I am convinced that the above saying is true.
According to the internet it is called Apophenia.
Apophenia is described as finding patterns in randomness. Grouping negative events into threes is a coping tactic. In other words, the bad luck won’t last forever.
- The first thing that happened is that my oldest NUC would not power up. In the past with my self-built computers, I would normally just replace the PSU (Power Supply Unit). But I could not do this with a NUC. I will consider replacing it with an ASUS Mini PC (if I can afford it).
- I broke my Breville Barista Express. I decided to clean the bean grinder. It seemed so easy as shown on a Breville YouTube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2NCKxJzznQ&t=75s All went well until I tried to re-insert the upper burr. It would not go in, so I tried to force it and broke it. I didn’t fully clean out the grinder as shown in the YouTube video. I have an old grinder that I used with my old Moka Pot.
- I broke my LG stick vacuum cleaner. This was all my fault. I stopped to do something else and, instead of placing the vacuum in a secure position, I left it precariously balancing on a table. It fell over and was smashed.
So according to Google, (Apophenia) I am now safe from further catastrophes – I Hope – Cross Fingers – Touch Wood. Also it has been a couple of weeks since No 3.
